From the desk of Mayor Charlene Taylor:
Harwood residents surely remember when the Catharsis Theatre Collective came to town last year, interviewing residents about our experiences fighting off zombies during the recent uprising of the undead.
Their plan was to use our exact words to create a documentary play about the event — and I’m excited to announce that they’ve done it. I hope they pick someone gorgeous to play me!
The play will be presented in San Francisco, California, from Oct 9 to Nov 7, by Sleepwalkers Theatre, written by Tim Bauer, who I’m assured is no relation to our own Darlene Bauer, using interviews conducted by the collective.
I don’t imagine anyone will be able to travel that far, but in case you have relatives in Modesto who don’t mind the drive, information is here: sleepwalkerstheatre.com.
If all goes well, they say they’ll be bringing the play here so we can see ourselves onstage and gain what they call “closure,” which is apparently something that can only come through the power of live theatre.
In the meantime, please quit asking about royalties; y’all were told those release forms were binding. Thanks!
The Town of Harwood is a rural town with a rich history, known for its spectacular scenery and close proximity to the Boca del Infeirno.
Much of the town is being rebuilt, and we're working to preserve the historical architecture inexplicably spared by the undead in order to retain a vibrant small town feel. We invite you to explore this site and determine why Harwood is being called “The Town That Can Come Back To Life!”
